Tonk was the only princely state in
Rajasthan ruled by the Muslims. There is a research
institute in Tonk which has Arabic, Persian and Urdu manuscripts and a
rare collection of literature from India, Iran & Arabian countries.
Unpublished, handwritten books and manuscripts, largely poetry by Muslim
poets can be seen by tourists in the collection kept within the institute.
Mughal literature and rare books can be seen here. The Institute also
supports study courses and research projects.
Timing: 10.00 am to 4.30 pm.
Closed: Friday and gazetted holidays.
